{|para The oss_mixext_root structure is used to encode the data field for the mixer device root node (MIXT_DEVROOT). This info has no practical use but it's provided anyway.}

The 'id' field returns the mnemonic ID of the mixer and the 'name' field gives the descriptive name. This information is redundant with the info returned by SNDCTL_MIXERINFO.
