Some mixer drivers still support the old "legacy" mixer API (don't ask what it was). OSS will automatically map this old API to the new v4.0 mixer API. However these legacy controls require somehow different GUI layout management (subgroups placed side by side).
legacy controls will always be precented before the new style controls (mixer extensions). This marker will be used to tell that the mixer controls after it will be new style ones. GUI based mixer applications can use this marker to switch between different layout management policies (if necessary).
